After returning from his Fulbright grant to India, Taylor Delhagen along with few others started a charter high school in one of New York City's poorest neighborhoods - Brownsville, Brooklyn. Apart from teaching social studies, his goal is to help high school freshmen to exercise real choices about their futures.

"My Fulbright experience has molded me into a very different type of teacher. I am more aware, more conscious of the ways in which history is told. It allowed me to explore my passion through research while simultaneously focusing my pedagogy for my classroom," said Mr. Delhagen.
