U.S. Fulbright-Nehru Alumna launches her new book in India

U.S. Fulbright-Nehru alumna Meera Subramanian launched her first book “ELEMENTAL INDIA: The Natural World at a Time Crisis and Opportunity” in New Delhi on January 19, 2016.

Meera Subramanian is an U.S. based award-winning journalist who writes about culture and the environment for newspapers and magazines around the world. Meera was in India in 2013-14 on a Fulbright-Nehru Senior Research Fellowship at TERI University, New Delhi. During her fellowship, she travelled across India to research and report on five nonfiction stories based on the five elements (earth, water, fire, air and ether). Her work during her Fulbright period in India culminated into a series of articles and the non-fiction book, Elemental India. Published by Harper Collins India, the book seeks to find stories about India’s environmental challenges and the people across the country who are working towards a sustainable future.
