Ashwaq Masoodi, Fulbright-Nehru alumna won The Society of Publishers in Asia (SOPA) 2015 for excellence in reporting on women's issues for her series on human trafficking. Her stories spanned the human cost of sex trafficking, the modus operandi (including “missed calls”) used by traffickers to lure young women into their net, and how trafficking caters to the demand for brides in parts of India with skewed gender ratios
