| Methane is an energy rich gas with a high global warming potential. An anaerobic Methanogenic bacterium generates methane by degradation of biodegradable organic matter present in organic solid wastes and wastewater through Anaerobic Digestion process. The main aim of my study is to understand the techno-economic feasibility of the applications of various modern Anaerobic Digestion technologies currently being used in the USA (for recovery of methane as a source of energy, pollution control and control of Greenhouse Gas Emissions) and the Federal policies that have made this application a success with an objective of developing similar models for the developing world. | |
