| Project Title: | Capacity Building of Stakeholders for Sustainable Energy Management from Biomass for reduction of Green House Gas Emission |
| Abstract of Project : | |
| India is under pressure to reduce the emission of Green House Gases (GHG) which adversely affects the climate. Under such circumstances, replacement of fossil fuels by bio-ethanol appears to be a lucrative option. Bio-ethanol can be produced from abundantly available lignocellulosic biomass like agricultural residues, forestry biomass, etc. However, conversion process is complex and challenging. As part of my Fulbright Fellowship, I propose to carry out laboratory experiments for effective conversion of biomass to ethanol. I hope the findings would pave way for capacity building of stakeholders in India for energy management and GHGs reduction. | |
