Host US Expert for Short Duration 

FULBRIGHT SENIOR SPECIALIST PROGRAM 2011-12

 

Fulbright Senior Specialist Program provides an opportunity to Indian universities and institutions of higher learning to collaborate with the US faculty and professionals for a period of two to six weeks.  The program is not meant for research work.

 

Potential collaborations include but not restricted to curriculum planning, short-term lecturing, participation in special conferences or workshops, teacher-training programs and development of educational materials.

 

The grants are open in the following fields:

* Agriculture

* Anthropology

* Applied Linguistics/Teaching English as a Foreign Language

* Archaeology

* Business Administration

* Communications and Journalism

* Economics

* Education

* Environmental Science

* Information Technology

* Law

* Library Science

* Peace and Conflict Resolution Studies

* Political Science

* Public Administration

* Public/Global Health

* Social Work

* Sociology and Urban Planning.   

* US Studies i.e. art history, dance, history, literature, music, popular culture, religion and theater, urban planning.

Applications in the fields of Agriculture, Business Administration, Communication and Journalism, Economics, Education, Environmental Science, Information Technology, Public Administration and Public/Global Health will be preferred for the year 2011-12.  

If applying for a specific US faculty, please ascertain that s/he is on the senior specialist roster maintained by the Council for International Exchange of Scholars, USIEF's US based collaborating agency for administration of this program.  If the specific faculty member is not currently on the roster, urge him/her to apply online at www.cies.org

 

The Fulbright program pays for international airfare and honorarium for the expert.  Indian institution has to cost share local hospitality, and in-country travel if required.  This is essential requirement of the Program. 

The last date for receipt of request form from the Indian Institution is September 30, 2010.

Grants are limited. USIEF's selection committee will select the applications in October/November 2010. All applicants will be notified about the result in November 2010. Grant start date should be March 2011 onwards.
