FULBRIGHT-NEHRU STUDENT RESEARCH  

This program encourages several categories of students to visit India - recent B.S. / B.A. graduates, masters and doctoral candidates, and young professionals and artists - for personal development and international experience. Preferred subjects are: Agricultural Sciences; Business Studies, Management and Leadership Development; Economics; Education; Energy, especially alternative and renewable energy; Environment; Governance and Democracy; Law and Civic Engagement; Media and Communications; Public Administration; Public Health; Science and Technology; Society and Development; Study of India; and Study of the United States.

Duration: 

Nine months 

Eligibility: 

Candidates at all degree levels, developing professionals and artists 

Grant benefits: 

  • Maintenance allowance of Rs. 18, 000 per month (Additional allowance of Rs. 6, 000 is provided as housing allowance for grantees affiliated in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru and Hyderabad)
  • Dependant maintenance allowance of Rs. 9, 000 per month up to a maximum of 3 dependents. Please note that dependent allowance is given only if the dependent stays for a minimum of 80% of the scholar’s time in India.
  • Incidental allowance of Rs. 12, 000 per month
  • Relocation allowance of $ 300
  • Material allowance of $ 500
  • Excess baggage allowance of $ 600
  • Research allowance of $500
  • Round trip travel according to USIEF guidelines
