The program provides grants to US Faculty for research in India. The research can be done in any of these fields: Agricultural Sciences; Business Studies, Management and Leadership Development; Economics; Education; Energy, especially alternative and renewable energy; Environment; Governance and Democracy; Law and Civic Engagement; Media and Communications; Public Administration; Public Health; Science and Technology; Society and Development; Study of India and Study of the United States.

Four to nine months
Eligibility:
Ph.D. or equivalent with five or more years' teaching experience.
Associate or full professor rank or professional equivalent preferred.
Awards are open to practicing professionals
Grant Benefits:
Maintenance allowance Rs. 24,000 per month (Additional Rs. 6000 is provided as high city cost to Grantees affiliated in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru and Hyderabad).
Dependent maintenance allowance Rs. 9, 000 per month for each dependent up to a maximum of three dependents. Please note that dependent allowance is given only if the dependent stays for a minimum of 80% of the scholars' time in India.
Dollar supplementation allowance of $1,500 per month
Round-trip travel according to USIEF guidelines for grantee and two accompanying dependents (subject to dependents' minimum stay of 80 percent of grant duration in India)
Health insurance for grantee only
Reimbursable research allowance - grant up to six months $750 and grants between six to nine months $1000
