|Ms. Jennifer Brannan received her B.S. in civil engineering from the University of Portland, Oregon, and her education has been especially focused on environmental issues. She is highly esteemed by her professors for her excellent work ethic, time management, and ability to lead and work well in teams. Ms. Brannan performed research at Purdue University, Indiana in the area of water treatment and evaluated the use of Moringa oleifera seeds as a coagulant to clarify water. In the future, she will pursue graduate studies in water and wastewater treatment and strive to find global solutions to water issues.
Ms. Brannan’s Fulbright study, “Conquering Water Challenges in India with a Tiny Seed,” proposes the use of Moringa oleifera as a novel method for treating water in India and other countries with water quality issues. She expects Moringa oleifera seed extracts will prove to be a sustainable and simple point-of-use treatment of domestic water.
