Dr. Khushwant Pittenger, Professor of Business Management and holder of Jepson Endowed Chair, joined Ashland University in 1987 as an Assistant Professor. She earned her B.A. and Post Graduate Diploma in international trade from Punjab University- India; M.B.A. from Miami University, Oxford, Ohio, and Ph.D. in business administration from University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati, Ohio. In the past she has served as Faculty Senate President and Interim Dean of College of business and economics at Ashland University. She was chair of the Department. of Business Administration for five years. She designed and implemented the College's internship program and International Business major. She has served on numerous campus committees and consulted with area companies on issues related to management. She has presented over two dozen papers at regional, national and international conferences and has published articles in refereed journals and local newspapers. Her case on leadership sells over 1,000 copies internationally. She has served her profession by being the Track Chair, Program Chair, Proceedings Editor, Vice President and President of Association of Business Simulation and Experiential Learning.
There are three key objectives of Dr. Pittenger's Fulbright-Nehru grant - first, to experience India's transformative changes in a professional setting to learn and grow as a scholar and teacher by being a part of an educational institution that is preparing India's business leaders of the future; second, to share her love for and expertise in experiential learning with her colleagues and business students at the host institution and third, to build strong bonds with the host institution and its business partners to create exchange opportunities for study, teaching and scholarship for faculty and students of both home and host institutions.
